What is a Softbox?
A softbox is a light modifier that diffuses light into a softer, more flattering quality of light, similar to that of window light. It is designed to reduce hard and edgy shadows and create a directional quality of light, giving you better control over your light with minimal light spillage. However, please note that a speedlight bracket is required if you want to use this softbox with a speedlight, as it is not included with the product.
Grid vs No Grid?
Some softboxes come with a detachable grid, which is used to dramatically minimize any light spillage and create a more focused and directional quality of light. Grids also create stronger and bolder shadows on your subject, resulting in a more dramatic quality of light.
