Ladies and Gentlemen on March 4th I was privileged to listen to a dope album by my brothers Vic Monroe and Tone Spliff called " Words To The Wise".
As I was patiently waiting for the album to come out a day after interviewing Vic on Hip Hop Nation TV. When it finally came out I was listening to the intro wise words by Baz, Baz speaks about knowledge of self and him knowing that he is the 5% nation, every true Hip Hop head will appreciate hearing that knowledge and wisdom by Baz because the 5% nation speaks about the Asiatic black race and being the original man, in my country South Africa you are not allowed to use K word it was used to disrespect black people but what most black people in South Africa don't know is that the K word originates from Kafritae meaning the original man so even though Baz is a black American man his understanding of who he is as a 5 percenter makes me able to relate with him as a Black man in South Africa as an original people known as the Kafritae and the Bantu people. The content certainly took me back to the teachings of Dr Malachi Zee York, Elijah Muhammad, Steve Biko, Credo Mutwa, Noble Drew Ali and the Honourable Marcus Garvey.
The second track "Words to the wise" which is the main theme of the song " Yo Vic don't let this whack kats get you vexed" Vic explains the story of him waking up starting his day and receives a message from one of his friends. The song helps you to appreciate his skill in making a story line play in your mind clearly the advice he gets from his friend are simple words of wisdom that reminds even listeners to focus on their purpose and avoid distractions such as negative talk or criticism which is not constructive.
Track number 3 called Destinations, a striking line by Vic " Reading books on how Egypt built Rome" for those who have studied African history you will love how Vic reveals the hidden wisdom of Ancient Kemet being the civilizations of other nations even after Baz has spoken of being a 5 percenter which is the hidden knowledge of the Moorish people, Vic explains his experience of traveling to different locations and he shows appreciation of the different cultures he has met.
Aint saying nothing was the single that came out of this beautiful album, in a world that is ignorant where mainstream music makes music with no lyrics and content, Vic and Tone are sending a message that some people " Aint saying nuthin" but they defintely have something to say to the industry that is responsible for the lack of quality music.
Allow me to proceed " As we proceed" to the dope mixes on this beat made by Tone, " never fold like a package deal" through the journey you have seen with every song Tone and Vic did there is consistency in their work. " It's just like that as we proceed" truly explains that nothing is compromised.
In the world "It's silent weapons for quiet wars" whilst many are affected by the Russia vs Ukraine war, poverty, Covid-19, police brutality e.t.c "Quality of life is unsure" this a fine piece of music where they feature Recognize Ali who also does justice by delivering his knowledge " It aint the size of your body but your heart" an album worth checking out.
Shout out to the O.G's for creating this album the beats, lyrics and the entire production is amazing.
